Paying Rent

When you move into a property rented through Cox & Company, you will be expected to pay your first month's rent and deposit on the day you pick up the keys and sign the tenancy agreement.  This payment will be in cleared funds and will effectively cover rent due until the following month.

Rent is payable on the same day of each month, this being the same as the date your tenancy started.  Therefore, it is advisable to arrange your  move in to coincide with a date you will normally be comfortable paying your rent.

You will be asked in advance to provide bank details to complete a Standing Order on the day you collect your keys.  Depending on whether the landlord has instructed Cox & Company to manage the property or they collect rent themself will determine who the Standing Order will be made payable to.  In either case, the rent is payable each month by standing order in accordance with the terms of the tenancy agreement.  In the event that monies are paid by any other method, a handling charge of £15 plus vat will be payable for each transaction.
