Step 1

List Your Requirements

Finding a property isn’t just about picking the right spot, it’s about enjoying a new home.  Make a list of what you expect from the property as well as the surrounding area and how much you can afford to pay for it.  Our Local Information section makes it easy to identify local schools, shops and entertainment so you can consider the area more carefully.  Think about whether certain facilities are important to you, like Double Glazing, Central Heating and Parking.  And just as importantly, consider whether some amenities will suit your lifestyle, we haven’t all got the time to care for a large established garden for example.

Step 2

Find a Property

Let the net, or Cox and Company do most of the hard work for you.  By registering your interest in properties on our website, we can keep an eye out for some possible matches for you and give you a call when we find what we think you are looking for.  Various property search sites have the facility to contact us too, so use them.  We also put up boards outside some of our available properties, so if you have some time, take a drive around the areas you like and see if we have something there for you.

Step 3

Book an Appointment

Once you have spotted something you like, or even a dozen, get in touch with us and book an appointment.  Cox and Company will try to accommodate your viewing times around you so that you don’t have to rush around, after all, finding the right property for you is good for all of us.

Step 4

Accompanied Viewings

When viewing a property, Cox and Company will make sure there is a trained member of staff on hand to show you around.  Knowing the properties as we do, we can show you what’s on offer and should be able to give you access to the whole picture so that you can make an informed decision as to whether you can make this house your home.  If you have any questions during the viewing, we will be able to answer most of them on the spot, if not, we will certainly find out for you.

Step 5

Make an Application

Having chosen the property that you would like to be your new home, we will ask you to make a formal application.  Just a couple of forms to complete and you are well on your way to planning your move.  To make sure the house is right for you, and you are right for the house, your details will be submitted to the landlord for consideration and references taken up.

Step 6

Receive Confirmation

Once we have received references, and your new landlord has approved the results, it’s time to receive some good news.  Cox and Company will call you to advise you that your application has been successful and you can sit back and let us do all the paperwork.  We will send you everything you need so that you can spend the time reading through it while we get the house ready for an agreed date.

Step 7

Arrange your Move

You may want to tell some people that you’re moving.  Don’t forget to tell your bank, utility suppliers, family and friends your new address, or ask Cox and Company to send you some redirection information.  Most people these days like to do the actual moving themselves, but if you don’t, then Cox and Company can put you in contact with some local removal companies that can help.

Step 8

Pick up the Keys

Finally, we will call you close to your move in date and arrange an appointment for you to come into our office and pick up your keys.  Of course there is some paperwork to go through.  While you are with us, we will take the time to answer any of those questions you may have thought of and to explain what to do next, and that’s it.  Pick up your keys and Welcome to your New Home!
