DECORATION
We’ve all seen at least one of the multitude of home improvement/makeover programs that became all too common in the late nineties, and I’m sure many have cringed at some of the ‘personalities’ injected into the myriad of styles and colours. Therefore it is worth bearing in mind that not everyone may be able to enjoy the décor of a colourful home as much as the previous occupant and it would be a shame if the most suitable tenant was put off your property for the sake of a couple of tins of magnolia.
By providing a bright and neutral background to any rented property, there can be no worries for a tenant about whether their furniture or personal touches will clash and the choice is suddenly a lot easier for them.
On the same principle, it is best practice not to encourage a tenant to inject their own colour schemes, as this may not be viewed favourably when your new tenants are looking around, and not everyone can be trusted with a paintbrush. Neutral décor will be seen as sympathetic to any property, just as it is intended.
